2022 Season Classic Debate League Summer Workshop

 

On Friday, August 19 all members of the Classic Debate League–competitors and coaches–are invited to a one day workshop to explore the new topic, share ideas and advice, and rebuild our in-person debate community.  This event is for people of all experience levels (although it is not geared toward students with no debate experience).  

 

When:  Friday, August 19, 2022 from 9am-3pm

 

Where:  Minnehaha Academy (3100 W River Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55406)

 

Cost:  This event is free to attend (lunch may be purchased for approximately $5-6)

 

Coordinators:  Experienced Classic Debate coaches will lead all sessions

 

Agenda:    For students, the day will include:

        -New topic discussion, research, and argument exploration

        -Q & A and practice sessions focused on the Classic format and technique

        -Comfortable speaking and argumentation activities

        

        For coaches, the day will include:

        -Q & A sessions with experienced coaches

        -Observation of student activities

        -Time to connect with fellow coaches

 

What to Bring:    

-Laptop or tablet

-Paper, notepad

-Writing utensil

-Water bottle or beverage

-Lunch (if you choose not to purchase)
